Bachelors of Technology (B. Tech) in Metallurgy and Materials Engineering
 
B. Tech. in Metallurgical & Materials Engineering programme was started in the year 1998. The programme is of 4 years duration (8 semesters) and structured to tune the students in meeting the challenges in the field of Metallurgy and Materials Engineering.The students are given a comprehensive input in a wide range of subjects like , Mineral Processing, Transport Phenomena, Physical Metallurgy, Process Metallurgy (Ferrous and Non-ferrous), Processing of Materials (Welding, Metal Forming, Foundry, Powder Metallurgy) and non-metallic materials (Ceramics and Composites), The students are exposed to the concepts and practices of  Materials Characterization, Surface Engineering and Modeling.  In addition, the students are also given the freedom to choose electives from the Department.

Admission Requirements: Based on the rank in JEE (Main)

Master of Technology (M. Tech) in Industrial Metallurgy
The programme offers in depth knowledge about Thermodynamics, Physical Metallurgy, Manufacturing Technologies (Metal Casting, Metal Forming, Powder Metallurgy and Welding), Mechanical Metallurgy (includes Material Testing – Destructive and Non-Destructive), Corrosion Engineering, and Materials Characterization Techniques etc. The students are exposed to core and advanced areas in the first two semesters. Dissertation work is being carried out in the third and fourth semesters.

Admission Requirements: Admission Requirements: B. E. or B. Tech or equivalent in Mechanical / Metallurgical / Materials /Manufacturing/Production Engineering with a valid GATE score.
